Mickey Rourke Rocks!

When I think of Mickey Rourke, I think 'character actor' not the star of The Wrestler.

Mickey has a look about him that I certainly wouldn't call handsome - HAWT yes, handsome NO! As a matter of fact, to me he looks like he's been around the block and back a couple of times, but he is unforgettable.

This man is tough as nails, a real man's man, but he has such a soft, vulnerable side to him that is revealed in the trailer for his new movie. He won the prestigious Golden Globe 'Best Actor' award for his portrayal of a has-been wrestler in the ring, but this man is no slouch in the brains department - his IQ is 119 - according to this Squiddo page! He also has an abundance of self confidence according to reports on his actions at the Golden Globes Awards. Perhaps he feels his time has finally come after years of being in the supporting actor role. I hope to see lots more great quality acting from this amazing man.

He's definitely in good company with Bruce Springsteen who won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song, beating out Beyonce, Peter Gabriel, Miley Cyrus, and Clint Eastwood.

Is there an Oscar in the future for Mickey? I sincerely hope so, but then I'm always rooting for the underdog. Especially the guy who has duct tape holding his jacket together!

Yes he has made quite a comeback. Looking forward to seeing the DVD when it comes out.

He may never have been beautiful but remember the way he came across in 9 1/2 weeks, very sexy. Sadly the plastic surgery he had a while back turned his face into something quite scary.

Never knew these things about Mickey--I always thought him to be somewhat an unusual actor to say the least. Didn't realize he was in such good physical conditions. He must work out a great deal--that in itself says something about the man.

Averybody says as a matter of fact that Mickey shall hit the Oscar this year. Personally I doubt the Academy can go so far, but I will cross my fingers for it.

The authenticity is the hallmark of this movie combined with vivid cinematography and set design. An amazing career-best performance from Mickey Rourke and outstanding work by Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood, the film is very powerful and emotional. Again, an exceptional achievement by a true artist-Rourke. His performance is so penetrating, wise, and authentic that it deserves the Oscar. Randy "The Ram" Robinson was the biggest wrestler in the world, back in the 80s. Now it's 2008 and while things have changed, in his head he's stuck back in good old days. He's still wrestling, even though the money and his audiences are long gone. His aging body can no longer take the punishment. Aronofsky really captures the magic in Mickey's performance. It is the true essence of method acting. He is "The Ram".

I love Mickey, he should have won best actor. Maybe if he met with Hugo Chavez he might have had a chance.
